Basic Water Rescue

In-Person & Hybrid

The purpose of the American Red Cross Basic Water Rescue program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. It also prepares students for aquatic emergencies by teaching them how to protect themselves while assisting others. Basic Water Rescues does not provide students with all the knowledge and skills needed to be certified as a lifeguard.

Course Delivery

100% in-person training is offered for groups, crews, teams, offices, etc. Contact us to discuss the goals and outcomes of this training and book a course!

Hybrid training combines a virtual lecture-based portion (always led by a live Expedition School instructor) with an in-person skills checkoff.
