Wilderness First Aid March 1, 8A-5P Central
*All dates are Online – Google Meet link to be sent upon registering
Time: 8A-5P CDT/9A-6P EDT
This program is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. The American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid program is appropriate for audiences from youth-serving organizations as well as adults who participate in outdoor recreational activities or who work in wilderness or remote settings where emergency medical services (EMS) response is more than 1 hour away. The WFA program emphasizes experiential learning and major portions of the course are meant to be taught in outdoor settings.
Our Hybrid Courses offer a combination of online lecture with a live Expedition School Instructor, and in-person practical skills. Both components must be completed in order to receive a certificate for the course. Our team will be in touch on scheduling the in-person skills.
NOTE: Students must be in 100% attendance for all dates of this course for credit. This course can be used to satisfy NICA coach credentialing requirements for first time Wilderness First Aid students, as well as those needing to recertify. Students using this course as recertification for WFA need to show proof of current or recently expired WFA certification.
*Prerequisites:
CPR is a prerequisite to taking the Wilderness First Aid Course. Students must possess and show proof of a current CPR card to attend the course. Further, students can register for any Expedition School CPR/AED training within 30 days of the FA course.
