Our Hybrid Courses offer a combination of online lecture with a live Expedition School Instructor, and in-person practical skills. Both components must be completed in order to receive a certificate for the course. This program is designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed-help environment. Our NICA-specific First Aid Class highlights the most pertinent parts of the Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Class as they apply to mountain biking. The Wilderness and Remote First Aid program is appropriate for audiences from youth-serving organizations as well as adults who participate in outdoor recreational activities or who work in wilderness or remote settings where emergency medical services (EMS) response is more than 1 hour away.*Per NICA, the NICA First Aid course must offer in-person skills training. To accomplish this, all students are required to schedule their 4 hour practical skills component within 90 days of course completion. Please view our calendar to see which dates work best.*Prerequisites:CPR is a prerequisite to taking the NICA First Aid Course. Students must possess and show proof of a current CPR card to attend the NICA First Aid Course.
