2022 Spring Ascent Expedition to Bastrop State Park

Concept:  Multiday camping trip for Ascent Students and Parents

Location: Bastrop State Park, 100 Park Road 1A, Bastrop, TX 78602 

Number of Students: up to 37 

Number of Parents:  up to 37

Goals: 

• Fun! 
• Outdoor Survival Skills
• Teambuilding 

Dates: 

April 2-3, 2022

Price:   $350 per person.  Price includes all meals, snacks, Expedition School Guides, camping fee 

Price does not include:  Transportation, TPWD Park entry fee

Inclement Weather:  Safety is paramount with The Expedition School.  The Expedition School reserves the right to cancel the trip due to inclement weather. If the trip is canceled due to inclement weather, a full refund will be applied

12noon departure from Ascent 

1:15pm arrival @ Bastrop State Park

1:30pm – 3:30pm

Outdoor Survival School for Students and Parents

3:30pm – 4pm Snack Break

4pm – 5:30pm Flora and Fauna Hike 

6pm – 7pm Dinner

7pm – 8pm Smore’s and Stargazing

Early Bird Gets the Worm!  

6:30am:  Coffee and Tea are ON!  

7am – 7:45am:  Student Sunrise Hike (binoculars highly recommended) 

8am – 8:30am Pajama Yoga 

8:30am  Breakfast 

9:30am Teambuilding Event Students (Parents Welcome)

10:30am Break Camp 

11:30am  Lunch

12noon Departure

1:15pm Return to Ascent

Saturday: 

4pm – 6:30pm

Ascent Parent(s) are invited to join Founder, Kimery D. on one of her favorite cycling routes in Central Texas:   Bastrop State Park to Buescher State Park.  Parent(s) have the option of cycling (13 miles / one way) or Roundtrip (26 miles).  We will be followed by a SAG van for support.  Parents will need to be cycling fit to ride hills and the distance.  Additionally, parents are to provide their own tuned and working bike along with 2 spare bicycle tubes, bike pump, front and rear light, helmet and 1-2L of water.   RSVP is required by March 14, 2022.
